Some of my Australian family have come over to Europe and are staying in Italy for a month. We decided to meet up with them for a week in Tuscany. It was a huge family gathering of 15!
Some of the British contingency:
and some of the Ozzies:
We stayed in an old farmhouse on the Il Salicone estate, close to Pistoia.
The estate produces wine and olive oil and we were surrounded by vineyards and olive groves.
The grounds were lined with these huge barrels – aren’t they fabulous?!
The area was so peaceful and tranquil – it was bliss. This was our lovely driveway:
And our garden:
The view from the lounge:
and the view from the kitchen:
To our delight, our house was pre-stocked with a crate of wine produced on the farm. We spent many a night catching up over a bottle or two. Needless to say, the crate was empty when we left!
The surrounding views were just amazing. In the distance, we could see the snow capped mountains.
I think I could happily live here.
