Chairs, chairs, chairs!

You may or may not know that I am completely obsessed with chairs! In my living room I have a collection of quirky chairs and I love the mismatched look they create. Gaz’s favourite is this little red chair which we picked up from a flea market:

…Sunshine has adopted this unique swivel chair as her own:

….whereas the throne belongs to me!

I know the throne is a little battered, but I love it that way.  I had initially planned to restore it, but I’ve decided that it looks fabulous as it is – shabby chic at its best!

That said, I do love giving tired, old chairs a new lease of life.  I was therefore delighted when I came across this haul of chairs and couldn’t wait to start transforming them:

This modern pair were crying out for a French country look.  I decided on white, distressed paint and a Cath Kidston floral print.

The retro kitchen stool was in great shape, but the colours were dull and boring.  I had recently purchased Annie Sloan’s Provence, which is a bright turquoise colour.  I knew this was the perfect opportunity to try it out!  I adore the colour of the  paint and it compliments the Cath Kidston fabric perfectly.

Finally, these 1960s walnut chairs had very dated fabric.  The seats were also uncomfortable so Gaz re-padded them to make them extra thick.  The chairs were painted with Annie Sloan’s Paris Grey and the seats were recovered in a gorgeous Laura Ashley print.

From drab to fab! I think these lovely chairs are all ready for new homes!
