- I recently came into possession of this curious item:
At first I wasn’t sure what it was but my mum’s partner (who is an antique dealer) informed me that it was a collapsible cake stand!
It’s such a cute and unusual item – I love it!
As well as being perfect for afternoon tea, the fact this cake stand is collapsible and has a handle means it is perfect for taking on posh picnics too!
And of course it would make a fabulous centre piece at a vintage tea party!
I love collecting china tea cups. This is one of my favourites:
… and I found this one at Portobello Market:
Flea markets are a great place to find cute cups..
… and they’re not just for tea…
I love to fill teapots with cocktails and serve the drinks out of teacups – perfect for a girls’ night in!
They also make cute jewellery holders!
I use mine to store hinges and screws which I remove from furniture when it is being painted!
No vintage tea party would be complete without my Mary Rose Young teapot – I just love her creations! Check out http://maryroseyoung.com/ if you haven’t heard of her!
I also love collecting cute saucers and plates. I started buying vintage, mismatched crockery for a dinner party years ago and haven’t stopped since!
As you can see, I have acquired quite a collection. I really should stop adding to it but when I see something pretty I just can’t help myself!
